Barling Trafalgar | Fossil 1817
Barling
Cape Trafalgar is located south of the Andalusian city of Cádiz and west of the Strait of Gibraltar. It was here that British Admiral Nelson defeated the Franco-Spanish armada and became the hero he is known for today. He sank 20 enemy ships, without losing a single one. However he was mortally wounded in the battle, but his victory laid the foundation for England's naval supremacy which lasted over 100 years. In 1842 a monument 51 meters high was built in his honor in the center of Trafalgar Square in London, surrounded by four large bronze lions, which are the heraldic animal of the British crown and of London.
In this series, instead of using the well-known crossed Barling logo, a lion's head made of sterling silver was chosen. The additional application on the stem is also made of solid sterling silver.
